Nusa Lembongan is a small island off the southeast coast of the main island of Bali. It has now fast becoming as one of Bali’s most popular attractions, this island is a world away from the hassle and hectic pace of South Bali. This is a fine place to just put your feet up and relax. Main activities include surfing, diving and snorkeling. The water is some of the clearest you will find anywhere, and a vivid aqua blue in colour.

The island has a length of 4.6 km and a width of 1-1.5 km is located approximately 11 km to the southeast of Bali, Administratively, this island belongs to county of Klungkung, Bali Province, Indonesia. The main livelihood of the people as farmers in Nusa Lembongan is seaweed. Some of them work in the tourism sector and some other in supporting tourism sector. Nusa Lembongan is divided into two villages namely Lembongan Village and Village Jungutbatu. Lembongan village in charge of six villages and 12 custom banjars, whose territory is located in two islands that is largely Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Sixth hamlet which underpins the Village Lembongan namely; Dusun Kawan, Kaja Kelod, Kangin, Ceningan Kawan and Ceningan Kangin (two last village located in Nusa Ceningan). Desa Lembongan has many interesting places to be visited by tourists such as white sandy beaches, natural caves and man-made unique one, sea cliffs challenging, marshes full of mystery that attract visitors to come and a lot more interesting in the village Lembongan. Attractive beaches and famous in the Village Lembongan, among others; Pantai Tanjung Trance, Dream Beach, Selagimpak, Selambung, Sunset Beach, Pemalikan, Lebaoh (central beach seaweed) etc. Other places visited by tourists, among others; Houses Underground (Underground House) Gala-gala, Goa Batu Melawang Swallow’s Nest, Art Shop Center Buanyaran, marshes Pegadungan, Points Romance Kolong Pandan Sunset Park etc. Transportation to and from the Nusa Lembongan and Bali Island can be  reached by sea; and from Bali via the Port of Bali Sanur Denpasar. Long journey from Sanur to Tanjung Sanghyang Lembongan from 1 – 1.5 hours rowboat (jangolan) and about 30 minutes if using a speed boat.

Many areas around the island are good for diving and snorkeling, with abundant marine life and healthly coral. Surfing can get a bit crowded, but the waves are good. There are several white sand beaches away from the main centres which are virtually never crowded. There is a flourishing and well established seaweed farming industry here, and many visitors find it interesting to learn about this.
